[Tariffs Changes ] The Customs tariff Commission of the State Council Rectified

    

      Customs tariff Commission of the State Council adjusted the import tax rates of 26 items under 6 categories: 

       I. Food. The interim import tax rate of frozen pork shall be 6%; the interim import tax rates of 9 items including frozen ling, pistachio, baby food, whey and yeast shall be 2%-10%. 

       II. Vegetable oil. The interim import tax rates of olive oil and coconut oil shall be 5% from Jun 1 to Sep 30, 2008. 

       III. Feed. The interim import tax rates on bean and peanut cakes shall be 2%. 

       IV. Blood albumin and human vaccines. The interim import tax rates of four items including blood albumin and human vaccines shall be 0%. 

       V. Cotton. From Jun 5 to Oct 5, 2008, sliding scale tariff shall be levied on cotton excluded in the import quota. The specific duty of imported high-quality cotton with relatively higher prices shall be reduced from 570 CNY per ton to 357 CNY per ton. The current sliding scale tariff shall be resumed since Oct 6. 

       VI. The adjustment of the interim import tax rates of three other items. The interim import tax rate of marble and tufa cut into rectangular with saws or via other methods shall be 0%. The scope of electrode slurry subject to tax item 38249099 shall be duly adjusted; the interim import tax rate of broadcast-quality magnetic video tape recorders shall be duly adjusted. The above adjustment (apart from cotton and vegetable oil) shall be implemented from Jun 1 to Dec 31, 2008.
