[Industry Alert] Customs: The Import and Export of China’s Steel Slow down In Ja

According to the customs, the import and export of China’s steel slow down in January. The import of steel is 870 thousand tons, a drop of 550 thousands tons than that of last year, lowering 38.7%, and the link relative ratio reduces 60 thousand tons, lowering 6.5%. The export of steel is 2.22 million tons, a drop of 53.8%, and the link relative ratio drops 1.26 million tons, lowering 39.7%.

Upon the data statistics, the import billet in January is 130 thousand tons, 80 thousand tons than
that of last month, which sets a new high of import in 2006. In addition, the export of carbon coke drops dramatically, only 80 thousand tons with a drop of 92%. The import of ironstone is 32.65 million tons in January, a drop of 11.2% and the link relative ratio drops 5.4%.
