[Tariffs Changes] Taiwan will Lower 50% Tariffs on Some Imported Food and Extend

According to the department of customs in Taiwan, Taiwan has lowered 50% tariffs on 11 import food and extends the practice time limit to half year or August, which will save NT$260.5 million for importers.
The expiration of lowering tariff on eight goods including wheat, wheat flour, corn flour and soybean powder etc will extend to August 5, while the expiration of lowering tariffs on three goods including sesame and butter etc extends to August 18. Department of customs said.
According to department of customs, those measures of cutting tariffs in 2008 have saved the import cost NT$467 million.
