THE Chiwan Container Terminal (CCT) in the southern China port of Shenzhen, Guangdong province, has welcomed the arrival of a second mega containership operated by Mediterranean Shipping Company within a month.
The terminal operator said in a statement that the 13,798-TEU MSC Daniela berthed smoothly at CCT on Christmas Day, after the earlier successful calling of the MSC Sola.
The MSC Daniela stopped at the port while plying the trade on the carrier's Jade service that links ports in the Far East to the Mediterranean. She is scheduled to sail on from South China to Singapore
The successful calling of MSC Daniela not only signalled CCT's capability of handling the biggest vessel in the world, but also proved the capacity of Tonggu Channel again, the release added.
