Processing Procedures:

I. Pre-examining of standards adopting cognizance documents

The municipal-level enterprises should send the standard adopting pre-examining documents to relevant administrating authorities, groups, or entrusted technology standardization committees; the county-level enterprises should send their documents to the county quality and technical supervising bureau for pre-examination.

1. The enterprise should get Application Form for Adopting International Standards or Oversea Advanced Standards Cognizance in Shanghai, and fill the form;

2. Other documents for pre-examine of standards adopting cognizance:

1) The text is validating, and its effect equal to international standard or oversea advanced standard. (If the enterprise standard is adopting international standard, the original text and translation text of the adopted standard should be attached as appendix);

2) Comparison table of the major performance index of the product and corresponding content in international standards or oversea advanced standards;

3) Safety performance appraising report of the product;

3. When passing the pre-examination, the pre-examining authority should chop on the Application Form for Adopting International Standards or Oversea Advanced Standards Cognizance in Shanghai.

II. Registration of standard adopting cognizance

1. The enterprise should send 3 copies of the Application Form for Adopting International Standards or Oversea Advanced Standards Cognizance in Shanghai and pre-examining documents to Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervising Bureau for cognizance.

2. After accepting the registration application of adopting international standards cognizance, Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervising Bureau should audit the documents, and issue Cognizance Certificate of Adopting International Standards to the qualified enterprise. 2 copies of the cognizance application form will be returned after cognizance.
