Processing Authority: Special Equipment Supervising Department of Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau

Application Formality:

1. welders who are engaged in the manufacturing, installing, repairing, and reconstructing of boiler, pressure container, and pressure pipeline;

2. With an education background equal or beyond junior high school, healthy, and be able to take the weld task independently;

3. welder who applying for the examination shall get the approval from the examination committee.

Processing Procedures:

1. applying to the welder examination committee for the qualification examination

2. the committee assesses the welders and constitutes training plan

3. the committee carry through basic knowledge training

4. the committee carry through examinations on basic knowledge

5. the committee will organize practice skills training to those who pass the knowledge examination

6. the committee takes examinations on the practice skills

7. the committee shall report the examination scores to Special Equipment Supervising Department of Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau and make files

8. Special Equipment Supervising Department of Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau will issue certificates to the eligible welders after auditing.

Standard: RMB 4 for registration and issue of welder certificate

Time Limit for Processing: The processing authorities shall finish the approving and certificating procedures within 10 days after accepting the documents submitted by the welder examination committee.

Qualified Application Subject:

1. welders of the organizations which have already acquired the qualification of manufacturing, installing, repairing, and reconstructing boiler, pressure container, and pressure pipeline.

2. welders of the organizations which have applied and on the process for the qualification of manufacturing, installing, repairing, and reconstructing boiler, pressure container, and pressure pipeline.
