China and Germany sign MOU on toy safety cooperation

Nov. 15, Chief Inspector of AQSIQ Xiang Yuzhang met with German State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology Bernd Pfaffenbach and his group. Both sides exchanged opinions on issues both concerned including toy safety cooperation and standardization cooperation. After the meeting, Xiang Yuzhang and Bernd Pfaffenbach signed MOU on toy safety cooperation together. Xiang Yuzhang firstly expressed welcome to Bernd Pfaffenbach and his group, and introduced major functions and basic information of AQSIQ. He expressed that with the development of economy and Sino-Germany trade, both countries had broad cooperation in different fields. The trades in toy field was increasing ceaselessly and market shares was enlarging every year, so that it was especially important to ensure product quality and safety in toy markets. He believed the signing of the Memo could positively promote toy quality and standards completion in both countries. Xiang Yuzhang hoped both side could take the chance to strengthen cooperation in other fields and promote the development of bilateral economy and trade. Bernd Pfaffenbach appreciated Xiang Yuzhang?? view and said, German government attached great importance to trade between China and Germany, both countries had broad prospect in standardization cooperation, and he hoped products quality especially toy products quality in two countries could be improved by joint efforts of both sides.
