Wei Chuanzhong emphasizes food and agriculture products safety

From Nov. 7 to 8, Meeting of Food and Agriculture Products Safety Supplied to Hong Kong and Macao was held in Shenzhen. Vice Minister of AQSIQ Wei Chuanzhong attended the meeting and gave speech. He emphasized to thoroughly implement the guidance spirit of the State Council on product quality and safety, to strengthen inspection and monitor on export food and agriculture products, and to ensure safety of food supplied to Hong Kong and Macao. On the meeting, Wei Chuanzhong analyzed present situation faced by food and agriculture exportation and problems existing in export food and agriculture products safety work. He pointed out that efficient measures should be taken to ensure the safety of food and agriculture products supplied to Hong Kong and Macao. First, strengthen the sense of responsibility and emergency of the safety work of food and agriculture products supplied to Hong Kong and Macao. All local departments should carefully initiate risk analysis, confirm products under inspection, make clear inspection and monitor projects, enlarge proportion of sample tests, strengthen port monitor, and ensure quality and safety on the base of full grasp of information of origin management, product characteristics, production technology, business fame, and regional development. Second, strengthen the sense of first person-in-charge for enterprises. Strengthen the monitor on export enterprises, urge and supervise the control of enterprises on usage of feed and pesticides, strengthen quality management in production, do self-inspection and self-control well, and produce strictly according to standards. Third, increase the service for export enterprises; take advantage of information, personnel, and technology to actively help enterprises to solve problems in development. Guide and help enterprises to actively participate in food safety laws and standards formulation and revision work. Fourth, do inspection and quarantine basic work well, grasp the overall information of industry, product structure, risk characteristics and exportation, follow export goods direction, overseas custom clearance, and problem products recall, and improve the efficiency and pertinence of work. Attach great importance to emergency treatment ability for export food and agriculture products. Fifth, strengthen the communication and cooperation between local governments and related departments, and form whole power depending on governments and related departments. Strengthen the inspection and monitor on export food and agriculture products, complete inspection and quarantine work flow on export food and agriculture products, and make effort to improve inspection and quarantine work level. Carefully implement quality and safety responsibility system, and do export inspection well.
