14th round of tests shows milk powder meets melamine restriction

AQSIQ has carried out the 14th round of sample tests on infant formula and other milk powder products produced after Sept. 14 in the markets across the country, and all products met the temporary restrictions on melamine in milk products. The tests covered 152 batches of infant formula under25 brands in 8 provinces. These brands included Yili and Yinqiao, among others, and all met the limit on melamine content in infant formula. Samples from 165 batches of other milk powder products under 39 brands in 12 provinces also showed compliance with the related restriction. So far, AQSIQ has tested 1,488 batches of infant formula under 78 brands in 17 provinces and 2,100 batches of other milk powder products under 178 brands in 25 provinces, and the level of melamine in all products was below the set limit. All stores and supermarkets are required to post the lists of qualified businesses and their products and set up special counter to ensure sufficient supplies of quality and safe milk products.
