18th round of tests shows liquid milk meets melamine restriction

AQSIQ conducted the 18th round of tests on liquid milk products supplied in the markets across the country, and all products met the temporary restrictions on melamine in milk products. The tests covered samples from 575 batches of liquid milk products, including yogurt, pasteurized milk and sterilized milk, under 79 brands in 27 major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi??n and Guiyang. These brands include Mengniu, Yili, Bright, Sanyuan, Wondersun, Weigang, and Yinqiao, among others. So far, AQSIQ has tested 8,892 batches of liquid milk products from 168 brands produced after Sept. 14 in 39 cities, and found the level of melamine in all products was below the limit. All stores and supermarkets are required to post the lists of qualified businesses and their products and set up special counter to ensure sufficient supplies of quality and safe milk products.
