2008 China quality promotion and post-earthquake reconstruction service activity

Oct. 26, the Opening Ceremony of 2008 China Quality Promotion and Post-earthquake Reconstruction Service Activity of China Association for Quality Promotion was held in Beijing. Vice Chairman of Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Yan Junqi sent letter of congratulation. Vice Chairman of CPPCC Zhang Rongming, Vice Minister of AQSIQ, President of China Association for Quality Promotion Pu Changcheng, and Member of AQSIQ Party Leadership Group Song Mingchang attended the ceremony. On the ceremony Pu Changcheng pointed out that product and service quality played an important role in the healthy development of economy, society, national image, and future of the country. We should always make the concept of scientific development our guidance, based on quality first, and make every effort for Chinese product and service quality. We should do post-earthquake reconstruction work well, ensure service quality, and make new contributions for life recovery and a new home for people in quake-hit areas. It was known that there were four teams for this activity, separately consisting of representatives of news reporters, quality experts, quality workers and consumers. The activity would be initiated by four teams including China quality promotion and post-earthquake reconstruction service team, food quality and safety team, protection of product of geographical indication team and city service quality team. All teams would initiate their work after the ceremony. On the ceremony, Report on China Present Service and Quality Development jointly drafted by AQSIQ and China Association for Quality Promotion united with School of Economics and management of Tsinghua University was published. Meanwhile, Opinion on Strengthening the Construction of After-sale (Public) Service Quality Credit System (trial), Measures on Social Monitor on Evaluation and Regulation of After-sale (Public) Service Credit as well as opinions on industrial evaluation and regulation of industrial products edited by China Association for Quality Promotion were also published for the first time for opinion collection. Representatives for member units of National Quality Month leading group, related departments of central government, enterprises, medias, academies, and quake-hit areas participated in the activity.
