Wei Chuanzhong meets with Dutch Minister of Agriculture

AQSIQ Vice Minister Wei Chuanzhong met with Dutch Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality Gerda Verburg in Beijing on Oct 23. Both sides jointly signed a protocol on veterinary and sanitary conditions for pork to be exported from the Netherlands to China, and held friendly talks on bilateral cooperation in such fields as food safety accountability system, and animal and plant inspection and quarantine. Wei said that the two countries have developed cooperation ties for a long time. As early as in 1995, both sides have established friendly cooperation on SPS-related issues. China is willing to further cooperation with the Netherlands in inspection and quarantine field, and properly solve issues related to bilateral trade through friendly consultation. Ms. Gerda Verburg highly praised the harmonious and stable cooperation between both sides, and expressed her welcome to Wei who is to visit the Netherlands in the middle of November, adding that she will co-chair the 6th high-level SPS forum with Wei to find solutions to inspection and quarantine issues of mutual concern.
