Cross-Strait Metrology Symposium held to enhance exchange

The 7th Cross-Strait Symposium on Metrology and Quality, organized by Chinese Society for Measurement, was held at China Jiliang University recently, gathering over 100 experts and scholars in the field of metrology and quality management from the mainland and Taiwan. More than 40 high-level academic reports were made during the three-day symposium, covering over ten areas, including new metrological technologies and achievements, energy measurement, energy conservation and emission reduction, latest progress in modern medical metrology, development of laws and regulations for certification and accreditation, and scientific methodologies and experience of quality management. The symposium has been initiated and held by metrological organizations in the mainland and Taiwan alternately every two years since 1995, with the aim of strengthening connection among metrological management organizations, quality management and certification institutions, and related enterprises, and promoting technological exchange in metrology and quality management across the Strait. 98 papers have been included in the symposium proceedings.
