30th National QC Circles Meeting held

The 30th Anniversary Celebration on Implementation of Comprehensive Quality Management and the 30th National Quality Control Circles Meeting, with the theme of ??ational QC Circles--Sharing, Harmony, Enhancing?? was held in Beijing from Oct. 15-16. The meeting was co-sponsored by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, All-China Federation of Labor, Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, Chinese Association for Science and Technology, All-China Women?? Federation, and China Association For Quality. Present at the meeting were Wang Zhongyu, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the 10th CPPCC National Committee, and Bai Lichen, vice-chairman of the 10th CPPCC National Committee. About one thousand delegates, including officials from the co-sponsoring organizations, representatives from QC circles of various industries in the mainland, and their counterparts from quality management associations in Hong Kong and Taiwan, attended the event. The meeting summarized the experience attainted by quality control associations and enterprises in various industries across the country in the practices of implementing and promoting quality management, discussed existing problems and solutions, and awarded the organizations, enterprises, and individuals that made remarkable contributions over the past thirty years. QC groups, quality-trustworthy production teams, enterprises, outstanding leaders and promoters with excellent performance in 2008 QC activities were also granted prizes. Representatives from excellent enterprises delivered keynote speeches on conducting QC activities.
