Xinjiang inspects equipment imported for Dushanzi petroleum refinery and ethylene project
Xinjiang Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has handled 498 applications for inspection of imported equipment worth of 480 million US dollars since the ten-million-ton petroleum refinery and one-million-ton ethylene production project operated by PetroChina Co. Ltd. in Dushanzi, Xinjiang entered the phase of equipment import and installation in 2006. So far, the authority has issued 248 batches of inspection certificates for equipment with a value of 271 million US Dollars. 65 batches of equipment were found to have such problems as low quality, specification inconformity, quantity shortage, and illegible labels.
