Standards makers of China, US and EU hold training in Shanghai

The Joint Outreach of Electric and Electronic Product co-hosted by China, US and EU was held in Shanghai on Sep 24. According to Jacqueline Minor, Director for Consumer Policy at DG Health and Consumers, the activity was part of Joint China - U.S. - EU Initiative on Consumer Product Safety Compliance. Law-makes, entrepreneurs, standards makers and other experts from China, EU and US would introduce U.S., EU and Chinese laws and regulations and safety standards in the electrical and electronic industry with the goal of reaching broader agreement to ensure product safety in whole supplying chain. The newest progress and successful experience in market monitor and consumer safety compliance would also be covered in the discussion. Product safety is focused area jointly concerned by China, EU and US. The three sides have made notable efforts in the field in the past few years. Now they are trying hard to introduce the third side in the present, efficient bilateral mechanism.
