4th inspection shows milk powder products meet melamine restriction

AQSIQ has carried out the 4th round of testing on infant formula and other milk powder products supplied in the markets across the country, and all products met the temporary restrictions on melamine in milk products.

The tests covered 39 batches of infant formula products under 10 brands in 6 provinces. These brands included Yili and Bright, among others, and all met the limit on melamine content in infant formula. Samples from 133 batches of other milk powder products under 45 brands, including Yili, in 18 provinces also showed compliance with the related restriction.

So far, AQSIQ has tested 499 batches of infant formula under 53 brands in 15 provinces and 709 batches of other milk powder products under 142 brands in 25 provinces produced after Sept. 14, and the level of melamine in all products was below the limit.

All stores and supermarkets are required to post the lists of qualified businesses and their products and ensure sufficient supplies of quality and safe milk products.

Detailed lists can be found on AQSIQ's official website.
