Test shows no melamine in newly-produced milk powder

The latest inspection, carried out by AQSIQ on infant milk powder formula and other milk powder products showed that there was no melamine in any sample tested, says an announcement issued by AQSIQ on Oct. 5. No traces of melamine were found in samples from the 128 batches of infant milk powder formula under 31 brands in 10 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. Of these brands, no problems were found in Yili, Yashili, Heilongjiang Guangming Songhe, and Shanghai Chenguan, among others, according to the announcement. The inspection also showed that samples from the 212 batches of other milk powder products under 84 brands in 21 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions were free of melamine. The brands include Yili, Mengniu, Heilongjiang Yashili, Jiangxi Guangming Yingxiong, and Shanxi Gucheng, among others. AQSIQ has ordered all department stores and supermarkets to post lists concerning qualified enterprises and their products and ensure adequate supplies of quality and safe milk products.
