Quality inspection departments ensure three safeties

2008 Beijing Olympic ended ,and quality inspection department ensured border safety, food safety and special equipment safety through hard work and contributed to a safe Olympic.
To ensure border safety, from August 1 to 24, all ports of the country had inspected and quarantined 4854 entry Olympic airlines, 11 Olympic trains and all were qualified; inspected and quarantined 403 batches of entry Olympic materials, and destroyed or sent back 11 batches of materials inspected to be not qualified; inspected and quarantined 691416 entry passengers, eliminated infectious disease suspicion for 27 passengers, and inspected 3072 batches of questionable materials carried by passengers mainly including fruits, animal and plant products, and soil, 2654 batches of which were inspected, destroyed or sent out of China in a limited time by Beijing Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.
To ensure food safety, provincial and city quality inspection departments in 17 places where 148 Olympic food suppliers for 6 Olympic competitive venues were located implemented strict administrative measurements including closed production, factory monitor, every batch inspection and strict release. By August 24, fixed suppliers had offered 6 Olympic competitive venues 171787 kg meat products, 67691 boxes of dairy products, 224863 boxes of wine, 1411507 boxes of drinks, 176392 boxes of ice cream, 88090 kg rice, 132675 kg wheat and corn powder, 20204 boxes of cakes, 66073 boxes of instant noodle, 2764 boxes of bread, 3943 boxes of instant food, 49943 L plant oil, 75130 kg aquatic products, 7684 boxes of flavoring, 2270 kg bean products, 1104 boxes of chocolate, 1567 boxes of candy, 339 boxes of coffee, 24 boxes of tea bags, 360 bottles of honey, and no food safety accidents happened. Meanwhile, Beijing Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau?supervised Beijing Airport Inflight Kitchen Ltd and Beijing Xinhua Airline Food Company to provide over 300,000 VIP tea and pastries, packaged food and fruits of fixed shape, and no food safety accidents happened. At the same time, by August 24, 793 batches of Olympic entry-exit food had been inspected with 403 imported batches, 25 of which had been inspected to be not qualified, mainly including micro organism, too much e coli and package break, and Olympic safety was thus further ensured.
To ensure special equipment safety, the opening and closing ceremony of Beijing Olympic adopted many international advanced high technology special equipments. Beijing Municipal Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau work 24 hours with strict standards and ensured the two ceremonies of Beijing Olympic went on smoothly. Quality and technical supervision departments of Olympic undertaking places such as Beijing, Tianjin, Liaoning, Shanghai and Qingdao greatly carried out special equipment safety examination before and during Olympic Games to ensure Olympic special equipment safety. Quality inspection departments in 6 provinces and cities had sent over 1000 special equipment examiners, inspected over 10,000 special equipments on site, realized the goal of ??o malfunction in central area and no accident all over the city?? and ensured special equipment safety in central area, buffer area and outer area of Olympic Games.
