The quality inspection authorities in Beijing, and Olympic co-host cities, including Tianjin, Shanghai, Qingdao, Shenyang and Qinhuangdao, fully ensured the special equipment safety for the Games with their great efforts. During the Games, all special devices installed in the central areas such as Games venues kept proper functioning, and not a single accident concerning special equipment has occurred in the "buffer areas" and "outer areas". All objectives set for special equipment safety management have been achieved.
The six cities carried out 24 hour on-site watching on the 7,188 special devices in the central areas, and organized dozens of professional teams for handling emergencies. Those in the buffer areas and outer areas were also understringent checks. The measures taken have ensured the smooth operation of Olympic-related special equipment.
The quality inspection authorities in Beijing and Qingdao are still doing their best to ensure the Paralympic Games special equipment safety.
