Wei Chuanzhong examines Olympic safety work

August 15, a week after the opening of Beijing Olympic Games, Vice Minister of AQSIQ Wei Chuanzhong examined Olympic safety work. He expressed that the examination was to know the implementation work of Olympic safety of all levels in quality inspection system since the opening of Olympic Games, to inspect on-site Olympic safety work, and to encourage all system to work well in the next period to ensure Olympic safety.
After the examination of Olympic safety work related to quality inspection, Wei Chuanzhong gave full recognition to quality inspection work after the opening of Beijing Olympics. He pointed out that since the opening of Beijing Olympics, all quality inspection departments effectively ensured Olympic food safety by three monitors (factory monitor, inspection monitor and barcode traceability monitor), three controls (Olympic venue central area control, small enterprises and small workshops centralized area control, daily social food control) and establishing a inspection and monitor network on national food production enterprises, effectively ensured Olympic special equipments safety by duty system, 24 hours on-site duty in Olympic core venues, technology experts ready for reinforcement and weekly round inspection on outer special equipments, effectively ensured port safety by strict inspection and quick release, and effectively ensured quality inspection safety information going on smoothly by daily report of Olympic quality inspection information.
Wei Chuanzhong emphasized that to ensure Olympic safety was a political task and a hard battle that we must win. At present, Olympic safety work has come to key period, and all quality inspection departments should make all efforts to ensure Olympic safety. First, to ensure port safety when simplifying customs clearance procedures and accelerating clearance speed with high sense of responsibilities. Second, to ensure Olympic food safety by strengthening monitor responsibilities and guidance, and implement carefully all work measures. Third, to ensure Olympic special equipments safety by strengthening inspection on special equipments referring to boilers, pressure pipelines, pressure vessels, elevators, escalators, vehicles in venues and amusement facilities. Fourth, make all efforts to do all work well related to Olympics by strengthening communication and cooperation.
