Zhi Shuping meets with P.Y. Lam, Hong Kong Director of Health

August 6, Vice Minister of AQSIQ Zhi Shuping met with Hong Kong Director of Health P.Y. Lam and his group, and exchanged opinions on how to initiate the communication and cooperation of both sides on quick inspection technology on epidemics and port suspicious epidemic on-the-spot medical evaluation methods. After the talk, both sides signed Cooperation Memo on Navigation Hong Kong-Inland Small Ships Sanitary Supervision Field.
During the talk, Zhi Shuping expressed that AQSIQ attached great importance to the cooperation with Hong Kong Department of Health. Since August 2003, both sides had initiated efficient cooperation on entry-exit quarantine especially SARS and Birds Flu epidemic prevention and control, and had established profound friendship. Zhi Shuping said hoping that during Olympics, Hong Kong Department of Health could provide technical support for epidemics that may be carried into inland which has never been discovered before, and that the signing of the Memo could meet with practical work requirements of sanitary supervision work on small ships coming and going between Hong Kong and inland.
