China and Netherlands held the sixth bilateral talks on plant inspection in Kunming

From June 24 to 26, China and Netherlands had been holding the sixth bilateral talks on plant inspection in Kunming. Netherlands delegation was headed by Ms. Iris Fanssen from Ministry of Agriculture, and other members were from Netherlands Ministry of Agriculture, Royal Netherlands Embassy to China and Netherlands Council for Trade Promotion. Chinese delegation consisted of 7 members from AQSIQ Department of Supervision on Animal and Plant Quarantine, inspection and quarantine bureaus in Yunnan, Zhejiang and Beijing.

The major subject of the talk was: Netherlands exportation of flower seedling and seedball, potato seedling in vitro, pear and rootstocks to China; Chinese exportation of acer tree seedlings and oranges to Netherlands; discussion of cooperation plan on pant inspection between Netherlands and China; Experts from both sides exchanging and communicating experiences and practices in plant inspection management system and technical supporting system.

Both sides decided that China was responsible for drafting Protocol of Plant Quarantine on Netherlands Flower Seedling and Seedball Exported to China and after the recognition of Netherlands, the protocol would be signed by Ministers from the two countries during SPS international conference which was to be held in the end of the year. At last ,both sides decided to report and implement the results of the talk in the form of meeting minutes.
