Liu Pingjun emphasizes on strengthening supervision and monitoring from origin

On June 18, Member of Party Leadership, Administrator of SAC liu Pingjun emphasized in Henan Special Advancing Meeting on Food and Drug Standardization that it was not only an important strategic arrangement of Party Central Committee, the State Council and AQSIQ, but also an important measure to ensure safety and health of consumers to strengthen the supervision and monitor from the origin, and to establish food and drug standardization system from planting, breeding to manufacturing and processing, from packaging, transporting to consuming chains.

Liu Pingjun gave full recognition and high appraisal on Henan government paying great importance on standardization work and constantly working out new standardization measures.

Liu Pingjun pointed out that to prove overall product quality of China, Party Central Committee and the State Council formulated a series of great strategic deployments, and AQSIQ also made a series of important measures. Only by establishing and perfecting standardization management system could we provide important technical support for fulfilling each important measure. All departments at all levels should work hard to establish scientific, united, and authoritative national standardization management system, and make standards formulated broadly applicable, prospective and authoritative.

Liu Pingjun emphasized that the key standardization work of this year was to give prominence on key work, and focus on the implementation of standards. SAC clearly regulated that all exported products should meet the requirements 100% of international standards, standards and technical regulation of importing countries; all food and consuming products related to human health and safety should 100% adopt international standards and foreign advanced standards; the standards of testing methods on import and export products as well as products related to human health and safety should 100% adopt international standards and foreign advanced standards. During the implementation of standards, monitoring from the origin should be realized and all process standardization system of key agricultural products from planting, breeding to consuming should be established. Food producing enterprises should establish standardization all process system from purchasing, manufacturing, and packaging to transporting, food logistics enterprises should establish rather consummated safety logistics standardization system and set standards for every chain of production and transportation of agricultural and food products. Based on standardization, long term mechanism ensuring food quality and safety should be established. By the advancement of standards internationalization, our three national industries: wine, tee and traditional Chinese medicine should be put forward to international market as soon as possible.
