ChinaGAP certified aquaculture and tea producers

Recently, China Quality Certification Center(CQC) presented ChinaGAP certificates to producers from the aquaculture and tea industries at home for the first time. The first batch certified are Shandong Oriental Ocean Sci-Tech Co., Ltd., Fujian Huasheng Group Sanming Frozen Food Co., Ltd., and Fuzhou Kaijie Food Development Co., Ltd.. This move shows that CQC's agricultural produce and food certification services have been extended to a broader range.

Good Agricultural Practices(GAPs) refer to a set of rules generally recognized in agricultural activities, which can help improve the quality and safety of products grown. GAPs are an internationally-implemented control and certification system to monitor on-farm production and post-production processes of agricultural produce. The system is based on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)? and focused on quality control for producing processes of agricultural products. It also encompasses such aspects as environmental protection, sustainable agricultural development, and human health, safety and welfare.

Presently, ChinaGAP certification services provided by CQC cover the following six categories: Crops, fruit and vegetable, Tea, Cattle, sheep and dairy, Pig, Poultry, and Aquaculture.
