AADA to increase levy on shipments from China, HK and Taiwan

MEMBER lines of the Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) said in a statement that from September 15 shipments originating in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan that are then headed to ports in Australia will be served with a rate restoration of US$300 per TEU and $600 per FEU for both dry and refrigerated cargo.
The group said the increase will apply in addition to existing market rates and will be subject to all ancillary charges applicable at the time of shipment.
AADA is a voluntary discussion forum of 15 ocean carriers serving the trade from North and East Asia to destinations in Australia, which include: ANL, CSCL, Cosco, Fesco, Hamburg Sud, Hanjin Shipping, Hyundai Merchant Marine, "K" Line, Maersk Sealand, MSC, MOL, NYK, OOCL, P & O Swire Containers and Gold Star Line (ZIM Line).
