According to The Baltic Course, the first stage of the implementation of the European standard railways Rail Baltica will begin already in 2010. It is foreseen to be finished in 2013. Rail Baltica project coordinator Pavel Telicka presented such prospects of the erection of the international railways at the conference held by the European Railways Engineers Association and the Lithuanian Railways Engineers Union, reports ELTA. This is one of the biggest transport projects in Lithuania and the entire EU, therefore its successful implementation depends not only on financial guarantees but also on close cooperation between separate countries, - said Telicka. He also assured that the finances foreseen for the first stage have not disappeared and they are enough to begin work.
