COSCO Shipyard Launched in Dalian

On August 2, COSCO Shipyard launching ceremony was grandly held in Lvshun, Dalian. More than 100 senior officials including Mr. Zhang Guobao, Vice-chairman of SDPC, Provincial Governor of Liaoning Mr. Chen Zhenggao, Vice-Minister of Ministry of Transport Mr. Xu Zuyuan, Chairman Gao Huaizhong, Working Bureau of Supervisory Panels, SASAC, Party Secretary of Dalian Mr. Zhang Chengyin, Mayor of Dalian Mr. Xiaderen, and Capt. Wei Jiafu, Mr. Zhang Fusheng, VP of COSCO Group attended this ceremony and cut the ribbon for the new project. Capt. Wei Jiafu delivered speech announcing the official commencement of Dalian COSCO shipyard construction.

With nearly 10 billion RMB investment, Dalian COSCO shipyard project will facilitate 2.4million tonnage ship-building capacity annually, gradually reaching 3million tonnage in its long term planning. The official commencement signified COSCO Group's implementation to the national policy for upgrading heavy industries and shows support to Liaoning province for its high-class shipbuilding industry.

Dalian COSCO shipyard, under dedicated supports by local authorities, all related parties, will become a promising component in COSCO ship-building business, singnificantly contributing to local economy development.
