On the morning of April 3, the 10000-TEU container ship COSCO OCEANIA was christened and delivered at Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co.Ltd. The distinguished guests who were present at the ceremony include Vice Chairman Li Jinhua and standing committee member Gao Junliang of CPPCC, Vice Minister Xu Zuyuan of MOC, Vice Governor Zhang Weiguo of Jiangsu Province, Vice Chairman Bao Guoxin of Jiangsu CPPCC, Party Secretary Luo Yimin and Mayor Ding Dawei of Nantong, President Wei Jiafu, Executive VP Zhang Fusheng, VP Chen Hongsheng, Li Jianhong and Xu Lirong and Sun Yueying of COSCO, Executive VP Masatoshi Terasaki of KHI, Managing Director Xu Kai of Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering and representatives from CCS. On the ceremony, Vice Chairman Li Jinhua christened the new ship. Capt. Wei Jiafu spoke highly of the delivery of the ship and said that it marked another milestone in the rapid development of Chinese shipbuilding industry. With the successful building of COSCO OCEANIA, China has become the third country that can build 10000-TEU container ship after South Korea and Denmark.
