COSCO is Expanding in Lianyungang

On March 27th, 2008, at the New Oriental container terminal, COSCO Group held the celebrating ceremony for the maiden voyage of its European box service from Lianyungang Port.  The distinguished guests who were present at the ceremony included Mr. Zhao Kezhi, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province, Mr. Wang Jianhua, Secretary of Lianyungang Party Committee, President and CEO Capt. Wei Jiafu, Vice President Chen Hongsheng and Xu Lirong of COSCO Group.  On the ceremony, Mr. Zhao Kezhi, Capt. Wei Jiafu and Mr. Wang Jianhua spoke highly of the service.   After that, Mr. Zhao Kezhi and Capt. Wei Jiafu witnessed the opening ceremony of COSCO (Lianyungang)Shipyard  Company.

In July 2007, COSCO and the government of Jiangsu Province decided to setup a strategic partnership. COSCO is invited to participate in the development of Lianyungang Port.  Now the launching of COSCO European box service from Lianyungang and the establishment of COSCO (Lianyungang) Shipyard Company jointly with Lianyungang Port Group will undoubtedly push forward the win-win cooperation between the two sides.
