The opening ceremony of Dayaowan Phase III dock of Dalian Port was held

On the afternoon of 7th November 2008, the opening ceremony was held by Dalian International Container Terminal Co., Ltd (DICT) at Dayaowan Phase III dock, which marked the official beginning of production by Dayaowan Phase III dock. President Li Shaode, Dalian mayor Xia Deren, vice mayor Dai Yulin, managing director of China Shipping Container Lines Huang Xiaowen, general manager of China Shipping Terminal Fang Meng, general manager of Port of Dalian Group Sunhong, president of NYK Koji Miyahara and near 200 persons from various industries attended the opening ceremony.
DICT is invested and established jointly by China Shipping Terminal Development Co., Ltd, Port of Dalian Group and NYK, and is mainly involved in container liner services, including loading and unloading, transportation, piling up, storage, transshipment and multimodel transport. The company is located in Dayaowan port with an area of 2,180,500m2 and total length of coastline as long as 1,842m. There are 5 container berths at the shore, 3 of them for 100,000t and 2 others for 70,000t. Right now, 2 berths have been put into use, which could satisfy ships of 120,000t to the maximum berthing alongside, with annual planned throughput capacity as 3 million TEU and actual passing capacity as 4 million TEU. It is the largest container dock with most potential at the southern side of Dayaowan. President Li Shaode and Dalian mayor Xia Deren cut the ribbon; managing director of China Shipping Container Lines Huang Xiaowen addressed at the opening ceremony. On Dalian mayor Xia Deren starting the button, the first container was lifted slowly to the domestic trade container ship ??New Quanzhou?? of China Shipping Container Lines. The establishment of 2 berths at Dayaowan Phase III dock will exert positive functions on helping Dalian become the international maritime center in Northeast Asia as well as strengthening the comprehensive competitiveness of Dalian logistics industry, and also marks that China shipping container dock industry has come into a new development phase. After the opening ceremony, president Li Shaode and general manager Huang Xiaowen boarded the ??New Quanzhou?? and visited sailors cordially. |
