Maersk Line will transfer its intra-Asia services to MCC Transport Singapore (MCC) during 2009.
Maersk has long identified the intra-Asia area as a centre of growth and recognises that it will soon become one of the biggest trades in the world for containerised shipments.
The new arrangement will result in a unique product for Maersk's customers - enabling them to deal with a partner who is close to the market, is proficient in terms of the specific trade requirements and in tune with the dynamics that influence it.
MCC has been a business entity within the AP Moller - Maersk Group since 1993 when it was acquired from the East Asiatic Co (EAC), and is one of the largest feeder operators in the world.
