The Chinese export increased in 2004 with 35.4% (593.4 billion US dollars) and the import increased with 36% (561.4 billion US dollars). These numbers result in a surplus of 32 billion US dollars and an increase of 25% compared to the year 2003. The total international trading volume reached in November 2004 one trillion US dollar. With this, China became one of the biggest trading nations besides the US and Japan.
In the first two month of 2005 the export increased with 36.6% and the import with 8.3%. The reason for the increase of export is the removal of the textile quota on January the first of 2005. Due to the increase of import and export, the number of shipping agencies in China tripled. |
