Chinese President Hu Jintao commenced his state visit to the Republic of Korea (ROK) in its captial, Seoul, Aug. 25. China and ROK later issued a joint communique, vowing to cement bilateral relations in politics, economy and trade, people-related exchanges, regional and international affairs. The two countries determine to intensify cooperation in trade and investment facilitation, inspection and quarantine, trade remedy and intellectual property rights, in an effort to bring forward the target of annual bilateral trade volume of 200 billion U.S. dollars to 2010.
