China, ROK vows to shore up IPR cooperation

Chinese President Hu Jintao commenced his state visit to the Republic of Korea (ROK) in its captial, Seoul, Aug. 25.  China and ROK later issued a joint communique, vowing to cement bilateral relations in politics, economy and trade, people-related exchanges, regional and international affairs.  The two countries determine to intensify cooperation in trade and investment facilitation, inspection and quarantine, trade remedy and intellectual property rights, in an effort to bring forward the target of annual bilateral trade volume of 200 billion U.S. dollars to 2010.

The two nations are willing to work together to further expand bilateral economic and trade cooperation, strengthening relevant negotiation and trade practice cooperation, the communique says.  In addition, cooperation in fields such as environment, information and telecommunication, finance, logistics and energy will also be pushed forward.  Relevant ministries and companies of the two countries signed cooperative memorandums on information technology innovation, energy saving and high tech.  Joint projects in electronics and information, telecommunication technology and new energy will be launched in the next five years.  (by Zhuo Ma)

中韩将加强知识产权等领域合作

本报讯  8月25日，国家主席胡锦涛抵达韩国首都首尔，开始对韩国进行国事访问。当天，中韩双方发表了《中韩联合公报》（以下简称《公报》）。《公报》指出，双方将在政治领域、经贸领域、人文交流领域、地区和国际事务领域加强合作。共同努力将双边年贸易额达到２０００亿美元的目标提前至2010年实现，为此在贸易投资便利化、质量检验检疫、贸易救济、知识产权等领域加强合作。

《公报》提出，为扩大两国经贸合作，进一步加强两国经贸磋商和贸易实务合作机制。进一步加强在环保、信息通信、金融、物流、能源等重点领域的合作。两国有关部门和企业签署《关于信息技术创新合作的谅解备忘录》，进一步加强和发展在信息技术领域的合作。签署《开展节能领域合作的谅解备忘录》，推进节能咨询、人员交流、技术开发等合作。签署《高技术领域合作的谅解备忘录》，今后5年在电子信息、通信技术、新能源等领域开展合作，积极发掘高技术合作项目。（卓 玛）
