SIPO spokesman: preliminary victory for protection of Olympic IPRs

On July 16, 23 days to the Olympics, SIPO and Beijing Intellectual Property Office co-organized a forum on Protection of Olympic IPRs.  Yin Xintian, SIPO spokesman and Director General of Law and Treaty Department, Liu Yan, Deputy Director General of the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce delivered keynote speeches.  Yin said, the protection of Olympic IPRs has achieved preliminary victory without serious cases occurring and visible elevation of the public awareness.

The next steps, according to Yin, are to take IPR protection as a long term task.  Protection of Olympic IPRs is a concrete practice of implementing the outline of the national IPR strategy, building an innovative country and an all-round prosperous society.  Such protection becomes increasingly important as the Games are nearing.  After the Games, China will continue our current efforts to protect IPRs as a long-term endeavor.   (by Liu He)

中国奥运知识产权保护已取得阶段性成果

本报讯  7月16日，在距离第29届奥运会在北京开幕还有23天之时，由中国国家知识产权局主办、北京市知识产权局承办的奥运知识产权保护论坛在北京开讲。国家知识产权局新闻发言人、条法司司长尹新天、国家工商行政管理总局商标局副局长刘燕出席并发表了演讲。尹新天表示，目前我国奥运知识产权保护工作已取得阶段性成果，还没有出现过严重的侵犯奥运知识产权案件，民众的奥运知识产权保护意识已经明显提高。

尹新天表示，在新形势下要进一步加强奥运知识产权保护工作，将知识产权保护作为一项长期工作抓实抓好。保护奥运知识产权，是实施国家知识产权战略纲要、建设创新型国家和全面建设小康社会的积极实践，特别是在当前北京奥运会筹备工作进入到决战阶段，加强奥运知识产权保护工作尤为重要。在北京奥运会闭幕之后，中国政府还将一如既往、毫不懈怠地继续加强知识产权保护工作，并将其作为一项长期工作切实抓实抓好。（刘 河）
