Record high software registrations in first half

As of June 30, China had registered 14,540 for the first half of 2008, including both copyright and contract registrations, up 27.4%; 13,999 of which were copyright registrations, up 29.12%. 

According to a principal from the China Copyright Protection Center, copyright registrations remain the mainstream of all software registrations as they show new developments and product upgrades of software companies.  The top five source provinces are Beijing, Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.  Beijing leads with 5,053 while Shaanxi boasts the sharpest growth. 上半年中国软件登记量再创新高

本报讯  截止到6月30日，2008年上半年我国软件登记总量达1.454万件（包括软件著作权登记和合同登记），比去年同期增长了27.4%。其中，软件著作权登记量为1.3999万件，比去年同期增长了29.12%。

据中国版权保护中心负责人介绍，作为软件企业开发新产品和产品升级的直接反映，软件著作权登记仍然是软件登记的主流。按照软件登记人所在地区统计，全国软件著作权登记列前5位的分别是北京、广东、上海、江苏、浙江。其中，北京登记数量为5053件，仍居全国首位，陕西增幅最大。（姚文平）
