State showcases 124 top innovations

The First National Outstanding Invention Patent and Innovation Exhibition opened on September 30 at the China Science and Technology Museum.  Lu Yongxiang, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Du Xiangwan, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) joined the tech festival.  China's most celebrated 124 patents featuring media favorites, Hisense's HiView chip and Vimicro's Starlight multi-media chip are on display until January 25, 2008. 

　　In his opening remarks, SIPO Deputy Commissioner Zhang Qin stated the purposes of the event in showing Chinese engineers' ingenuity and enthusiasm in innovation and speaking volumes of the role of patented inventions in generating an innovation country, harmonious society and the well-being of the people. 

　　The crème de la crème of active Chinese patents were filtered through two rounds of jury selection in August 2005 and May 2007 in the event “Examining and Exhibiting the Engineering Technologies of China's Outstanding Patents” jointly sponsored by SIPO, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), CAE and China Association for Science and Technology(CAST).  (by Zhang Haizhi)

首届全国杰出发明专利创新展开幕124项杰出专利齐亮相

　　本报讯　（记者张海志北京报道）9月30日，首届全国杰出发明专利创新展在中国科技馆开幕。全国人大常委会副委员长、中国科学院院长路甬祥，中国工程院副院长、党组成员杜祥琬等出席了会议。代表中国最新高科技成果的海信集团的“信芯”和中星微电子有限公司“星光”数字多媒体芯片等124项具有代表性的专利工程技术盛装亮相，并将展览至2008年1月25日。

　　国家知识产权局副局长张勤在致辞中指出，此次展览旨在反映中国的创新能力和科技工作者蓬勃的创新热情，体现专利技术创新成果在建设创新型国家、构建和谐社会中对国家产业发展和人民生活改善所起的巨大推动作用。

　　据了解，此次展览中的精品专利是由国家知识产权局、中国科学院、中国工程院和中国科协联合于2005年8月和2007年5月两次在全国范围内开展“评审全国杰出专利工程技术展示活动”中评选出来的。
