Trademark Law amendment hastened

It is learnt from the conference celebrating the 25th birthday of the Trademark Law on August 23 in Beijing, the third amendment of the trademark is underway, partly to reduce the time consumed for trademark registration and enforcement and facilitate many formalities. 

　　Wang Yongqing, Vice Minister, Legislative Affairs Office under the State Council, said the State Council has included this amendment into the second-tier items of this year’s legislative agenda.  The new edition of Trademark Law vows to shorten the time of trademark registration and maintenance of legal interests, predigest the procedure and strengthen the protection of exclusive rights of registered trademarks, make the Chinese law more compatible with international practice and facilitate Chinese applicants’ filing to other countries.  State Council will fully cooperate with relevant authorities to hasten the amendment procedure at the State Council and eventually at the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.  (by Zhang Haizhi/Dou Xinying)

中国正抓紧修订商标法

本报讯　（记者张海志  窦新颖 北京报道）8月23 日，记者在北京举行的纪念中国商标法颁布25周年座谈会上获悉，中国正在对商标法进行第三次修订，进一步缩短商标注册和维权周期，简化程序便利当事人。

　　国务院法制办副主任汪永清在座谈会上透露，目前国务院已将修改商标法列入今年立法计划中，需要抓紧研究，待条件成熟时提出立法项目。对商标法进行第三次修订，有助于进一步简化程序便利当事人，缩短商标注册和商标维权周期，加强对注册商标专用权的保护，适应商标国际立法发展的要求和中国商标大批量走向国际的需要。国务院法制办将密切配合有关部门做好修改商标法的研究、起草工作，并在修改草案上报国务院后抓紧审查工作，争取早日由国务院提请全国人大常委会审议。
