Software piracy rate down 2% annually in China

Deputy Director General of the National Copyright Administration Xu Chao announced in a press conference for the release of the Investigative Report on the Environment for the Development of Software Industry in China on August 9, the piracy rate in China in recent years tends to decline.  Statistics from the Ministry of Information Industry indicates, the rate is shrinking 2% annually.  The development environment of software industry has been improved, and the sales revenues of both domestic and foreign software enterprises in China are on the fast track.

With piracy, fair market competition order is destroyed, and the pirates steal the interests that should be attained by right holders, strangling the livelihood of legitimate companies, in particular those SMEs.    Only combating piracy may bring healthy and quick development to software industry. 中国软件盗版率每年递减2%

本报讯　8月9日，国家版权局版权司副司长许超在《中国软件产业发展环境调查报告》发布会上表示，近年来中国软件盗版率呈下降趋势。据信息产业部的数据显示，中国软件盗版率正在以每年2%左右的速度递减，软件产业发展环境正在逐步改善，国内外软件企业在中国的销售额快速增长。

据介绍，由于盗版现象的存在，公平公正的市场竞争秩序被破坏，盗版者不仅攫取了被盗版软件企业的利益，而且影响了其他软件企业，特别是挤压了中小软件企业的生存空间。因此，治理盗版才能促进软件产业健康快速地发展。
