Guangdong, Hong Kong boost IP ties

On August 2, the 10th Session of Guangdong-Hong Kong Joint Conference for Cooperation was held in Hong Kong.  After the session, in the presence of Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Huang Huahua, Governor of Guangdong Province, Henry Tang, HK Chief Secretary for Administration and Tang Bingquan, Guangdong Vice Governor, representatives from both sides signed six agreements, including the Agreement on Deepening the Implementation of CEPA to Jointly Promote Cooperation in Service Industry Between Guangdong and Hong Kong and the 2007-2008 Cooperation Agreement on Intellectual Property Between Guangdong and Hong Kong.  This was the first ever IP cooperation agreement signed by the two neighboring areas. 

The IP cooperation agreement provides for six items: continue mid-longer term projects; refine the GD-HK IP cooperation scheme, such as seminars on IP and Development of SMEss; facilitate users from both areas to file IP applications, etc.

粤港联席会议首次签署知识产权合作协议

本报讯  （记者顾奇志  通讯员李 征　刘 晶广州报道）在8月2日下午结束的粤港合作联席会议第十次会议后，粤港双方有关专责小组在香港特区行政长官曾荫权、广东省省长黄华华、香港特区政府政务司司长唐英年和广东省常务副省长汤炳权的见证下，共同签订了《深化实施CEPA、共同推进粤港服务业合作步伐协议》、《2007-2008年粤港知识产权合作协议》等6个合作协议。这也是粤港双方首次签署关于知识产权方面的合作协议。

据了解，《2007―2008年粤港知识产权合作协议》的主要内容有：继续推进现有中长期合作项目，完善粤港知识产权合作机制，包括巡回举办“知识产权与中小企业发展研讨会”等；为双方申请人到对方申请知识产权创造便利条件等六大方面。
