40,000 counterfeit Olympic merchandises smashed in Beijing

Nearing the one-year countdown to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Beijing Law-Enforcing Bureau of City Comprehensive Administration and the Legal Affairs Department of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) on August 4, staged a public event for Olympic IPR protection at Beijing Worker's Stadium.  Over 40,000 counterfeit merchandises including plush toys, key chains, badges with the five interlocking rings, emblem, mascots and slogans of the 2008 Games, were delivered for destruction after exhibited.  　　

Beijing city administration authorities launched intensive actions to combat street sale of counterfeit Olympic merchandises and carried out joint operations including the week of specialized law enforcement on Olympic IPR protection with the Legal Affairs Department of the BOCOG this year.   In the first half of this year, the administration's branch patrolling Tian'anmen Square area along with local police investigated and destroyed three premises that manufactured counterfeits fuwas and seized 28,000 Fuwa merchandises or semi-finished ones. 北京销毁4万件奥运侵权产品

本报讯　在北京奥运会倒计时一周年来临之际，北京市城管执法局与北京奥组委法律事务部于8月4日在北京工人体育馆联合举办了“保护奥林匹克知识产权，拒绝侵权产品倡议活动”。活动现场，城管部门展示了2007年以来查获的4万件带有五环图案标志、北京奥运会会徽、吉祥物、口号等内容的毛绒玩具、钥匙链、胸章等侵犯奥运知识产权的产品。随后，这些物品被送往指定地点予以销毁。

据了解，今年以来，城管部门进一步加大了对街头贩卖侵犯奥运知识产权商品行为的打击力度，并联合北京奥组委法律事务部开展了保护奥运知识产权专项执法周等行动。上半年，天安门城管分局联合公安部门连续端掉3个在北京市制售假福娃的窝点，起获假福娃成品和半成品多达2.8万余件。（何 方）
