Nearing the one-year countdown to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Beijing Law-Enforcing Bureau of City Comprehensive Administration and the Legal Affairs Department of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) on August 4, staged a public event for Olympic IPR protection at Beijing Worker's Stadium. Over 40,000 counterfeit merchandises including plush toys, key chains, badges with the five interlocking rings, emblem, mascots and slogans of the 2008 Games, were delivered for destruction after exhibited.
