Beijing AreteSM Intellectual Property Agency (Arete-IP) was founded on April 22, 2003 by a number of experienced Chinese intellectual property professionals and was designated by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) of China as a foreign-related patent agency (Licensed Patent Agency No.11269) to provide patent services to clients all over the world.

On August 5, 2003, Arete-IP was authorized by Beijing Administration of Industry and Commerce as a licensed trademark agency to provide both domestic and foreign-related trademark services.

As a responsible member of Chinese intellectual property community, Arete-IP''s aim is to provide international standard intellectual property services to fill in the gap between general Chinese law firms and traditional Chinese patent and trademark prosecution houses. Prosecution of patent applications for invention, utility models and industrial design before the Chinese Patent Office in the fields of Electronics, Semiconductor fabrication and test, Telecommunication and Networking, Computer science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceuticals, Material Science, Metrology, Scientific Instruments, Transducers, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Mechanics and so on;

Prosecution of PCT international patent applications filed with the Chinese Patent Office (as RO) or PCT international patent applications entering the Chinese national phase;

Patent search and monitoring;

Patent portfolio strategy planning and analysis;

Opinion on patentability;

Patent assignment and patent licensing, recordal of patent assignments and patent licensing contracts with the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO);

Representation for parties in re-examination and invalidation proceedings before the Patent Re-examination Board of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO);

Opinions on patent infringement;
