CUIPPC, the first organization specializing in IP-related investigation in Mainland China, was established in August 1994 in Beijing. It is and has remained the sole member of the ICC Counterfeiting Intelligence Bureau in Mainland China since 1996.

CUIPPC has established five branch offices in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenyang and Xiamen respectively, to augment its Beijing headquarters. Altogether, CUIPPC??s staff encompasses more than 100 investigators and administrators.

As of May 2005, CUIPPC had successfully resolved a large number of IP infringement cases, in the process amassing a wealth of experience in conducting raids against counterfeiters. Among these cases, 3,302 targeting manufacturers and 2,707 wholesalers, criminal proceedings have been initiated in 370 cases, with 25 persons becoming subject to criminal charges. The efforts of CUIPPC have enabled clients to obtain financial compensation from counterfeiters amounting to RMB 16,000,000.

Many cases handled by CUIPPC have been designated by high government agencies as being model law enforcement cases of either national or provincial scope. CUIPPC has thus by right become one of the most influential IP-related investigation firms in the PRC.
