WIPO ASEAN Seminar On “How To Enhance Intellectual Property Competitiveness In Select Industries In ASEAN”
This seminar took place in Siem Reap, Cambodia, from 5 to 6 November 2007.? It was organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in cooperation with the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce’s Intellectual Property Division.?
Participants at the seminar included representatives from WIPO, public and private sector representatives from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member states, and public and private sector representatives from Australia. The seminar provided a platform for deep and insightful discussions on the respective roles of policy makers and private sector entities in facilitating the use of Intellectual Property (IP) to enhance national competitiveness.
Mr. Ang I-Ming, Director/Legal Counsel of the Legal Policy and International Affairs Department (LPIAD) represented the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) at this event and shared his perspectives on the “Role of Government in Facilitating the Greater Use of IP as a Strategic Tool”.
