India Raises Palm Oil Import Duty

According to India's CBEC authority, the Indian government has raised the import duty on refined palm oil from USD 484/ton to USD 1,053/ton with the aim to protect domestic industries.

From November 2011 to April 2012, India imported totally 919,000 tons of refined palm oil, up 88.7% from 487,000 tons year-on-year.
