The U.S. Department of Commerce said on November 12, Washington time, that it would launch anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations on the multi-layer wood flooring products imported from China, according to a report released on its website.
The group who demanded the investigations claim that Chinese companies are selling wood flooring in the US at unfairly low prices; and want anti-dumping duties ranging from about 195 percent to 281 percent.
The U.S. imported $119.7 million of multi-layered wood flooring from China in 2009, declining from 2008's $148 million.
