[2010-11-18 13:40:01]

On May 17, 2010, the U.S. Department of Commerce made a ruling on imposing anti-dumping and anti-subsidy ("double antis") sanctions on the prestressed concrete steel wire strands (PC STRAND) originating in China.

According to the ruling, related Chinese steel wire strands destined for the U.S. will face anti-dumping punitive tariffs of between 42.97% and 193.55%. Apart from one Chinese manufacturer whose tariff rate is to apply 42.97%, the tariff rates for all the other Chinese manufacturers will be above 175%; meanwhile, related products will also face anti-subsidy punitive tariffs of between 8.85% and 45.85%.

It is estimated that the U.S. International Trade Commission will rule on the "double antis" case in the next month.
