[2012-08-02 17:28:03]

On February 10, 2012, the U.S. International Trade Commission announced its preliminary antidumping and anti-subsidy rulings on industrial injuries by large household washing machines made in South Korea and Mexico, holding that the dumping and subsidy of such imports have inflicted material injuries on American industries.

Based on the affirmative rulings, the U.S. Department of Commerce was scheduled to give its preliminary rulings on March 24 and June 7, 2012 respectively.

On January 19, 2012, the Department decided to take antidumping probes into the Mexican and Korean washing machines and an anti-subsidy probe into the Korean products under HS Codes 84501100.40, 84501100.80, 84502000.90, 84509020.00 and 84509060.00.

Whirlpool Corporation, the U.S. petitioner, requested levying 31.03%-82.41% antidumping duties with micro anti-subsidy duty on the South Korea-made products and 27.21%-72.41% antidumping duties on the Mexican products.
