Canton Fair focus: Service-Oriented, Clients First

The foreign visitors at the 104th Canton Fair could not help stopping their hasty steps to appreciate and admire the splendid complex that enjoys excellent traffic conditions and modern facilities.

While improving the hardware significantly, the Canton Fair has quietly improved their services to the foreign clients.

Courteous reception to loyal clients: it is the 21st time for Mr. Ton Van Asperen from the Netherlands to take part in the Canton Fair. Every time since the 100th Canton Fair, the fi eld workers would present him a warm card according to the system and tell him to get a present from the Loyal Client Counter. At this fair, 385 clients have received free coffee coupon, free Internet access, Guangzhou Traffi c Card or special gifts from the Canton Fair with the Loyal Client Response System. The loyal clients who took part in the Phase 3 of Canton Fair are invited to the Cups of Joy Program and more than 200 clients have made reservations by now.

VIP Lounge Area: the VIP Lounge Area, covering about 700 square meters, is located at A20 of Exhibition Area B and equipped with comfortable furniture and office equipment. It provides free drinks, Internet access and negotiation services. The fashionable color and the sign on the door are unique and attractive. In addition to the commercial chambers, important government delegations, exhibition promotion agencies of the import exhibition hall, key foreign buyers of transnational procurement and loyal clients who have taken part in the fair for at least 20 times can experience the latest services.

Efficient card handling: Mr. Zhao from Singapore had submitted a photo and passport information for an admission IC card online in advance. To his joyful surprise, the Buyer Registration Office offered services to him with the special counter of online card registration.

The registration service team has strengthened its services by expanding the registration venue, adding registration counter at hotels, increasing the quantity of admission card handling at hotels and enhancing publicity at the registration venue. They also reduced on-site pressure by making card registration and online card registration in advance. With coordination by leaders of Guangzhou Metro and Guangzhou Communications Commission, the service team gave more publicity at the venue, metro platforms and cars to guide clients to get off from different stations to avoid the rush hours and lead them to register for the admission card by taking advantages of the five registration venues in the three districts and the mobile registration spots at the neighboring hotels. All the measures helped ensure that the admission card registration was handled in order even at the rush hour.

Transnational procurement: There were seven transnational procurement enterprises from France, the US, Finland, Germany and Japan joining in the transnational procurement services in the Phase 1 of the fair. Though the transnational procurement exhibition area has been transferred to the platforms north to A3.2 and B.10.3, the buyers and the sellers were satisfi ed with the location. As of Oct. 17, 1,168 exhibitors have reserved for business talks and more than 1,400 enterprises especially have come to the transnational procurement exhibition area to learn the details of transnational procurement. After development during the previous 11 sessions, the transnational procurement exhibition has been praised by the procurement enterprises for their high quality service, personalized procurement concept and excellent organization and operation.

Import exhibition area: the Turkish Delegation, covering 1,080 square meters, is the largest foreign exhibition delegation.

The delegation held an opening ceremony as usual. The ceremony included speeches by the distinguished guests and ribbon cutting.

The deputy director of the Foreign Trade Division of Turkey was present at the ceremony. A total of 424 overseas enterprises from 45 countries and regions are invited to this fair. Of which, 221 overseas enterprises were organized by 12 overseas exhibition promotion agencies that played an important role. At the critical stage of reform of the Canton Fair, the "clientoriented" guiding thinking urges the service team to work towards a leading exhibition in the world.
