1. The main indicators of Construction industry show steady growth momentum
The total output of Construction industry got steady growth. In 2006, the National Construction Enterprises (referring to the general contracting and professional contracted enterprises with a quality level, none include labor subcontracting enterprises, the same as below) completed the construction industry output 4.0975 trillion yuan, 642.3 billion yuan more than the previous year, with an increase of 18.6%; Output value of completion of construction was 2.6051 trillion yuan, 218.5 billion yuan over the previous year, with an increase of 9.2%; the added value of construction industry was 818.24 billion yuan, up 18.6%.
The profits and the total taxes of Construction industry achieved synchronous growth. In 2006, the profits which achieved by the general contracting and professional contracted enterprises with a quality level was 107.1 billion yuan, up 18.1% over the previous year; Taxes paid 140.4 billion yuan, with an increase of 21.0%.
Labor productivity of Construction enterprises continues to grow.
In 2006, the labor productivity which calculated by the total output value of construction industry enterprises was 130,015 yuan / person, up 10.8% than the pervious year.
2. The local construction industry has developed rapidly, but an imbalance in regional development
The completion of the construction industry presented Cascade distribution which throughout eastern, central and western. In 2006, the total output of construction industry in Zhejiang Province was 559.093 billion yuan, while in Tibet Autonomous Region, the total output of construction industry only 5.392 billion yuan, there were more than 10 times discrepancy.
The fastest-growing region of the total output of construction industry was in the northeast region (including Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning provinces), the growth rate was 27.5%; Followed by the central region (Classification 3 by location of the National Bureau of Statistics: including Shanxi, Jiangxi, Anhui, Henan, Hubei, Hunan six provinces), an average growth rate was 21.3%; the western region (classification ibid.) average growth rate was 19.2%.
Jilin Province had the fastest growth, it was 41.1%, which more than four times of the growth rate in Shanxi Province (9%). The growth of Henan Province was 40.3%, ranking the second. Fujian Province had the fastest growth rate of total output of construction industry in Coastal regions, which was 32.5%, but the total output of construction industry in Fujian Province is the lowest in the coastal areas.
The growth rate of total output of construction industry reflected the support policy to the old industrial bases in northeast China and the western develop policy, it also demonstrated the central region is on the rise.
The strong position of construction industry developed region further consolidated and developed, market level and regional characteristic more obvious. In 2006, the total output of construction industry in Zhejiang (559.093 billion yuan) and Jiangsu (515.448 billion yuan) over the 500 billion yuan, the total output (4.097546 trillion yuan) of construction industry of the two provinces shared 26.2% of the nation's construction industry output, namely above 1/4 National construction industry output value was completed by the two provinces. In addition, nearly half (49.6%) of the construction industry output was completed by Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shandong Province and Beijing and Shanghai cities. This shows that the construction industry is concentrated in relatively high.
The labor productivity of construction industry in developed region generally higher than that in underdeveloped areas. Three municipalities of Tianjin, Shanghai, Beijing in the forefront, the average labor productivity was 203,247 yuan per person. Tianjin was the highest, reached 241,644 yuan per person, higher than the country's average labor productivity (130,015 yuan per person) 85.9%; Shanghai 197,919 yuan per person, more than 52.2%. The lowest labor productivity region was the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, which was 48,868 yuan per person, lower than the national average labor productivity 62.4%. The highest labor productivity region about five times of the lowest region.
3. The growth rate of number of Construction enterprises and employees decreased, superfine class and class one state-owned construction enterprises’ profit had faster growth
The amount control and structural adjustment policies of Construction enterprises has achieved initial success, the number of construction companies begin to decline. In 2006, the number of construction companies has been declined consecutive two years. In 2004, the national general contracting and professional contracted enterprises with a quality level achieved 59,018, with an increase of 21.2%; In 2005 dropped to 58,750, down 0.5%; In 2006, dropped to 56,717, decline 3.5% than in 2005.
In recent years, the number of construction workers rises as the shape of wave, respectively: increased 6.4% in 2002, 7.5% in 2003, 3.6% in 2004, 8.0% in 2005. In 2006, the growth rate of the number of construction workers declined in 2005, practitioners were 28.369 million, with an increase of 5.1% than in 2005.
Superfine class and class one construction enterprises partition by type of ownership, joint-stock enterprises was the mainly form. According to statistics, in the 5627 superfine class and class one construction enterprises, there are 3,946 limited liability companies, which shared 70% of the total superfine class and class one construction enterprises. The state-owned construction enterprises had 1283, which shared 22.8% of the total superfine class and class one construction enterprises.
Superfine class and class one state-owned construction enterprises had faster profit growth. According to incomplete statistics, in 2006, Superfine class and class one state-owned construction enterprises realized profits of 9.402 billion yuan, up by 47.8%, higher 29.1% than the average growth rate (18.7%) of all above qualifications enterprises, far higher than the other ownership enterprises. The total output of superfine class and class one construction industry increased 96.7%, the corporate revenue increased 128.1%, but total profit only increased 10.1%. In 2006, superfine class and class one foreign construction enterprises was the only type of ownership enterprises in all economic types of enterprises which revenue and profit both had negative growth.
